About Us

Mary Jane Wagner, VP, Research & Communications

Ms. Wagner has 17 years experience working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Project Manager and Regulatory Analyst  in the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) and the Office of Pesticide Programs. 

 

As a project manager she led workgroups in developing information and protocols to assess hazards, exposures, risks, uses of, economic impacts, and legal issues associated with the manufacture, processing and use of new and existing chemicals (including PFAS Chemicals).  

Mary also negotiated control actions and testing agreements with industries. Further, she served as a main Agency contact with the chemical industry, providing technical information as well as guidance regarding EPA policies and procedures.  She also acted as liaison to other federal, state and local agencies on behalf of the Agency.

 

Among Ms. Wagner’s accomplishments while at the EPA:  she served as Chief U.S. Negotiator and Project Manager for large scale, multi-agency, multinational negotiations with the chemical industry and labor unions; Branch Representative for the National Regulatory Strategy for Nanotechnology Chemicals; acted as Focus Chair which gave her the authority to make regulatory decisions regarding the disposition of new chemicals;  Mary was awarded numerous awards for her work while at the EPA, including a Bronze Medal for development of an innovative risk management strategy and the Vice-President’s (US) National Performance Review Hammer Award among others.  

 

Additionally, Ms. Wagner worked as Technical Administrator and Technical Writer for Scientific Services Inc. (Raleigh, NC), an engineering firm that specializes in hydraulic filtration testing for both industry and the U.S. Military. She simultaneously worked as a Technical Writer for Research Triangle Technologies, Inc., specializing in seismic qualification testing of components for nuclear power plants.

 

A graduate from Penn State University, she has a Para-Legal Certification from Meredith College (Raleigh, NC) and attended law school at the University of Oregon (Eugene, OR).

Peter A. Wagner, CEO, President

Mr. Wagner is a business consultant with over 45 years of diverse experience in financial and accounting management, business and marketing consulting, real estate development and personal asset management.   He held a position on the Board of Directors of two subsidiaries of one of the nation's largest independent oil companies, located in Houston, Texas. 

 

His experience spans financial and industrial disciplines with public companies (Wall Street Investment Firms, a Public Utility, Oil and Gas and Mining Industries) as well as private industry including, but not limited to:

 

Practicing as a CPA and consultant for over 30 years, focusing on general business consulting, financial accounting and tax planning, development of business strategies and marketing plans; industrial experience in project cost estimating and evaluations; economic feasibility studies; financial reporting; partnership and joint venture accounting; both joint venture and internal auditing; analysis and development of accounting systems and internal controls. Additionally, experienced in real estate development, residential renovations and rehabilitation; and lastly, personal finance and portfolio management.
